Independent Feature. Official selection, 2008 Sundance Film Festival.
Chronic Town is my first feature as a composer. After scoring a few network comedy pilots it was a blast to work on something so…spacious. Filmed on location in Alaska, Chronic Town called for a mix of acoustic and alt-country sounds– from mandolins to Les Pauls. We recorded the score at my studio in North Hollywood, featuring Stephanie Bettman on the fiddle. I played everything else, (too much fun!) and we mixed on a ridiculously historic sound stage on the Disney lot. My bluegrass band, The Dust Bowl Cavaliers, is also featured in the film.
