What’s with all the way-cool bars opening up downtown? We love playing Villains Tavern, and now we’re psyched to be doing three sets at One-Eyed Gypsy on Friday, December 2nd. One-Eyed Gypsy just opened up, and it looks great. Cosy with a “sinister, haunted mansion elegance,” fancy drinks, cheap drinks and food. Here are the details:

It’s been forever since I updated the blog. Here’s the news since February:

We got a dog. His name is Fox. He's a champ.

I'm studying kenpo at the AKMA dojo and testing for my orange belt next month. Never felt better!

I sold a kids show. The premise/network details are on the down low for now. I'm writing the script and having a blast.

I was nominated for another Daytime Emmy for my writing on WordGirl.

The Dust Bowl Cavaliers played the main stage at the Topanga Banjo Fiddle Festival. Our biggest crowd ever!

And it’s not good news.

CHANGE OF PLANS will not be moving forward at ABC. The long fly ball to center managed to stay juuuuuuust inside the fence. Boo. Whatever. Onward. I’ve had a week now to process the news. The Packers winning the Super Bowl helped soften the blow, as did a birthday sneak-away to Palm Springs.

I’m proud as hell of the script. I had a blast working with my producing team, the studio, and the network. As for what’s next, there are big plans in the works, as usual. Stay tuned.

Oh, and this song just hit on my iTunes shuffle. Pretty perfect.

And now we wait.

Change of Plans…

…is the name of the sitcom I sold to ABC back in the fall. Here’s what deadline.com has to say about it:

Actor-turned-writer Ryan Raddatz (This Might Hurt) has sold Change of Plans, a multi-camera comedy to ABC with veteran Marsh McCall as showrunner. … Change of Plans, from ABC Studios and Mandeville, is about a Midwestern family running a small business out of their living room. Raddatz is with ICM and the Gotham Group, McCall is with CAA.

Pretty cool press release! Working with Marsh McCall and the Mandeville guys has been an absolute blast. I’m delivering the script to the network in the next few weeks, and we should know if they’re ordering the pilot by the end of January. Fingers crossed.
